A quote from Kevin Smith, retooled into a comic strip that’s 100% true! Zen Pencils creates truly inspiring cartoon strips that are amazing and have more positive and moralistic storytelling then most 600 pages novels do. This latest strip shows how encouraging young artists is the best thing you can do. Sure, you need to make sure they understand reality, but you should never put up walls for a child’s ability to create! Thank you Zen Pencils!

Hey folks! Sorry for the lac of posts! Something happened that didn’t allow me access to my WordPress account, but it’s all been figured out, at long last! And just in time to post some hilarious stuff! I do love IKEA, but I do wonder if some of their names for things are from a mythological realm. Enjoy!

Over at Naterade, the animator of said Tumblr promotes civil relations between peers in artistic and amazing ways. My favorite post of his is one where a good and bad relationship is contrasted against each other, and it all turns into something epic and nerdy! Who knows when aliens will attack the Earth? I’d better start playing nice with everyone I know to ensure I have allies for an upcoming attack by Martians!

I despise the MPAA – there’s no consistency in how the rate films, and they’re unfair to films that put out good work. Sin City’s sequel, A Dame To Kill For, is being berated by the MPAA for a poster featuring Eva Green in a typical movie poster pose.

According to Deadline, The disapproval is “for nudity — curve of under breast and dark nipple/areola circle visible through sheer gown.” While no one should dispute the fact that, well, that’s what the poster is doing visually, it still doesn’t follow the pattern of other movie posters doing this exact same thing and getting their rating of “R” or below, which leads to funding.

If this was a poster for My Little Pony, then yeah, I would get the MPAA’s decision. But this is Sin City! Doesn’t the title already imply this? Mystique was much more revealed then Eva Green is.

What do you think? Is this poster too sexy for the theaters or does it look any different from the other posters with “Adult Content?”

Free Comic Book Day 2014

It was epic and fun! I got to display my art, sold some stuff, and meet some interesting people. New Genesis Comics allowed me to booth-it-up as one of Fort Collin’s local artists who draws on paper and white coffee cups. This is the first time I’ve been asked to act in this capacity and it was a fun experience.

Not much else to report. Got some great free stuff and helped support the local business. Lately my blogging endeavors have been lacking due to multiple projects in my life – writing a book (or trying to), drawing, cup art, and many other cool prospects which could pay up! In the mean time, Free Comic Book Day was a nice break from the hustle and bustle of daily life.

And tomorrow is May the 4th, and we all know what that means!
Mostly annoying my wife because I’m going to be watching Star Wars stuff all day. She loves me!

I was wondering when this little romance was going to start getting good. Most of Wondy and Supe’s relationship has been boring and unnecessary since it started. As much as I’ve always thought the two would work well together, this whole ordeal hasn’t been that eventful. I was beginning to think I had been wrong all these years.

Charles Soule, however, has finally raised the bar in the super relationship, forcing its longevity, making it feel fruitful and worth the wait.

Oh, they both die at the end too. Sorry for spoilers, I just can’t hold it in.

Of course it won’t last, and we’ll see Supes and Wondy revived and at full power. Maybe they’ll even level up! Yes, achievement unlocked! The power of love will give them new abilities to fight the good fight together in much more substantial ways.

It’s all speculation on my part of course, but I’m excited as can be for what’s to come for this super duo. I’m actually hoping Lois Lane doesn’t become Superman’s love interest for a while. I want to see where where Supes’ involvement of Wonder Woman goes.

There comes a time when every blogger takes a desperate leap to increase their hits.  We all know what that means for me though right?  I either have to post about cars or sex.  It’s depressing, but true. Comics are only as popular as the movies make them, and even then not everyone reads.  I’ve been looking at ways of increasing my hits without compromising my own values and appreciations, and thanks to the recommendation of an exhibitionist friend who lives here in Colorado, I found the perfect update for my site!

A group of women who run a website titled The Outdoor Co-Ed Topless Pulp Fiction Appreciation Society, which is based in New York, get together and read books while topless out in public.  According to the site, New York doesn’t have laws against sitting around certain areas without your top on.  So this band of friends gets together on a regular basis and chats about their favorite crime novels.  How can I increase my blog hits without feeling like I’m desperate?  Combine my love of reading with my love of those who’re are willing to push the boundaries of what is socially acceptable. I have a love of doing nude art as well, and this also falls in line with that. Group bio from their website is below…

We’re a group of friends, and friends of friends, and friends of friends of friends, and complete strangers, who love good books and sunny days and enjoying both as nearly in the altogether as the law allows. Happily, in New York City, the law allows toplessness by both men and women. So that’s the way we do our al fresco reading. If you’re in New York and the weather’s good, won’t you join us sometime…?

To answer your question…yes, this site is filled with pictures of these women laying around a public park in New York completely topless reading books together.  Now before you head on over to their blog, Keep in mind this isn’t a pornographic site.  (well, I guess that depends on you’re own reasons for visiting huh?) From what I can gather, this is a group of women (and men occasionally) that really do like to live on the edge in the company of a good book.  I’m not certain I would be brave enough if I was a woman to do this, but I’m not going to hate on this band of readers for their need to feel alive and liberated.

Currently they’re working their way through a good selection of hard crime novels, which is always good reading despite the author.  However I’m hoping they bump into this little blurb supporting their reading/exhibitionist group and look into getting some comics in their future reading lists.  I know I could give them some damn good reads that would not only be substantial, mysterious, and fun, but also go right along with their exhibitionist drive.

1. Watchmen – which deals with that pulp fiction era of superheroes, but also has a blue man completely in the buff, presenting this image that nudity isn’t bad, and no one should be afraid of it.

2. Y the Last Man – in which all the men have died except for one, and the mystery of how all the men around the world kicked the bucket begins, leaving women in charge of the post-apocalyptic society.  It’s thought-provoking and intense, with quite a humorous end.

3. Sin City – a quick read, but still incredibly fun.  Filled with the feeling of noir and over-the-top crime crime stopping action, sex, violence, and wonderfully written campiness.

But even if they don’t see this and go on with their reading endeavors, I hope they know that what their doing is awesome and riveting.  I wonder what’s next on their list after the crime novels have been read through?
