The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo Series To Be Adapted Into A Graphic Novel Series

Millennium Trilogy

Can I just say EXCITING!!!  Over at The Mary Sue, official reports are coming in about DC Comics receiving the right to publish all three of Stieg Larsson’s novel trilogy in both digital and print graphic novel formats.  From what I can tell, DC is going to do their darnedest to bring Larsson’s novels to life in a new and visually appealing way…

“The intricate characters and stories Larsson created in the Millennium Trilogy are a perfect match for the graphic novel format, where we can bring Lisbeth Salander to life in entirely new, visually compelling ways,” stated Dan DiDio, co-publishers of DC Entertainment. “It’s a distinct honor to work on a story that is already so popular with millions of readers around the world.”

DC’s plan is to release one book a year, starting in 2012 and printing the last book in 2014.  It irks me a little that I’ll have to wait so long in between years, but it’ll make it that much more enjoyable in the long run.

Larsson’s books have been getting a lot of attention lately; already three foreign films were made based on his books, an American version of the trilogy is also in the works for theaters, and now DC is giving us their take on the three novels…Larsson is doing well!

However, Larsson’s novels are not an easy read.  Protagonist Lisbeth Salader is a women who’ll do anything to save her own skin from murderous psychopaths…even if it means driving nails through a person’s foot! It’s a bloody psycho-thriller that will make your blood curdle.  So if you’re into that sort of thing, keep you eye on the web because this DC series will start sooner than you think.
